The Twelve

Concept
The concept was born during my daughter's confirmation an Easter evening in the cathedral of Uppsala. The church room was lit up solely by candlelight, and the music, architecture, and atmosphere helped create a strangely elusive mysticism. This gave me the idea to add my paintings to the scene.
Portraits hanging from thin wires in the middle of the dark church room, with a special theatrical light, evoke a feeling of floating paintings in the room. When music from choirs and orchestra is added, hopefully the visitor will be touched with the same feeling I had on that night at Easter.
The idea has also been tested on the facade of cathedrals at night, with a visuals and light show, supported by choir and soloist.
